Hongqi sees OTS trial production body-in-white of E202 electric concept SUV roll off line

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Hongqi, FAW Group's premium auto brand, announced the first off tooling samples (OTS) trial production body-in-white of the E202 battery-electric SUV concept rolled off the production line on April 24.

The E202 is an important model under the Hongqi's "All in" new energy vehicle development strategy, and the trial production was completed in 105 days.

Members of the E202 project team conducted a physical evaluation of the first body-in-white. This is the first time that joint quality evaluation work has been carried out during the production of the first batch body-in-white. By conducting pre-evaluation work, product design and process problems can be identified in advance, and continuous tracking, verification, and closed-loop management can be adopted to reduce problems during the subsequent mass production process.

At the ongoing Auto Shanghai 2023, the Hongqi E202 pure electric SUV concept was unveiled and is set to officially launch in February 2024. Being in the concept car stage, the E202 features the latest design concept of Hongqi's new energy vehicles and will be equipped with a variety of advanced technologies such as intelligent four-wheel drive, air suspension, autonomous driving systems, and HAC intelligent driving safety chassis systems.

Compared with Hongqi's fuel-powered vehicles, the new car's front face has undergone significant changes and features a glowing Hogqi new energy logo in the center, and a slim LED light group for a sportier look. According to FAW Group, the Hongqi E202 will be equipped an 800V fast-charging system, which can charge for 300 kilometers of range in just five minutes.
