Ganfeng Lithium to build 20GWh lithium battery production factory in Hohhot city

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Ganfeng Lithium Group Co., Ltd. (“Ganfeng Lithium”), one of the world’s top producer of battery-grade lithium, announced on Apr. 25 its subsidiary Jiangxi Ganfeng LiEnergy Technology Co., Ltd. (“Ganfeng LiEnergy”) recently signed a framework agreement with the municipal government of Hohhot city, the capital of Inner Mongolia, for setting up a lithium battery production project.

Under the agreement, Ganfeng LiEnergy will build lithium battery production lines with a total annual production capacity of 20GWh and relevant supporting facilities in Hohhot city. The project will be built in two phases, the first of which will feature a capacity of 10GWh per year.

The yet-to-be-built project will contain such facilities as lithium battery production workshop, battery pack workshop, battery system integration workshop, lithium battery analysis and testing center, lithium battery module and safety testing center, and lithium battery R&D center.

Through the partnership, Ganfeng LiEnergy and the local government will leverage their respective advantages to jointly build a lithium battery production base. Ganfeng Lithium said this cooperation will be conducive to expanding its production scale and market share of lithium battery products, improving its industrial business layout, and is in line with its strategy of integrating the upstream and downstream supply chains.
