Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Shenzhen BYD Auto R&D Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD Company Ltd., recently saw its corporate name changed to Shenzhen Fangchengbao (translated to “Shenzhen Formula Leopard”) Auto Sales Co., Ltd., with its registered capital surging 900% to 50 million yuan at the same time, according to the Chinese corporate information inquiry platform Tianyancha.

Meanwhile, Wang Chuanfu has stepped down from his positions as the legal representative, chairman, and general manager of Shenzhen Fangchengbao. He Zhiqi has been appointed as the company’s new legal representative and general manager, while Xiong Tianbo has become an executive director.

The company's business scope has been expanded to include the sales of new energy vehicle electrical accessories, manufacturing of automotive parts and components, and battery sales.

It is noteworthy that BYD applied for the registration of the "Fangchengbao" trademark in August of last year. Some industry insiders speculate that the Chinese name for the BYD F brand might be "Fangchengbao," suitable for automobiles and electric transportation vehicles.

Earlier this year, BYD disclosed the spy photos of the first model under its yet-to-be-launched “F” brand.

Named SF, the model shown in the photos is being tested on roads. The sticker on the car window shows that it is still the testing vehicle previously numbered “2316”. The automaker disclosed that the first three numbers signify that the SF would carry two electric motors and three locks (front and rear differential locks + electric center lock), and will ride on an all-new platform dedicated to new energy off-roaders. The “6” means the F brand might be launched in June this year.

Despite the thick camouflage, the raised lines on the vehicle’s front hood are still visible, while the split-style bumper design highlights its strong off-road attributes. Although the specific parameters are unclear, it still can be known that the SF has a large approach and departure angle.
