BYD puts Champion Edition of both Song PLUS EV, DM-i onto market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 19th, the BYD Ocean family's new product, the Song PLUS Champion Edition, was officially put onto the market.

With the launch of the Song PLUS Champion Edition, BYD continues to expand its offerings in the electric and hybrid vehicle market, delivering a combination of stylish design, advanced technology, and diverse powertrain options to cater to different customer preferences.

The Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition provides four trim levels with two range choices, featuring a price range of 159,800 to 189,800 yuan. The Song PLUS EV Champion Edition also offers four variants with two driving range options, priced between 169,800 and 209,800 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the Song PLUS Champion Edition adopts the distinctive design language of the existing BYD Ocean family, with an overall sleek and rounded shape. The all-electric version (EV) features stylish headlights, large aerodynamic channels on both sides, and a trapezoidal air intake at the bottom, presenting a minimalist aesthetic. The plug-in hybrid version (DM-i) has a more exaggerated front design with four horizontal air intakes, giving it a bolder look. Both EV and DM-i versions of the front grille now feature the "BYD" logo.

The side profile of the new model showcases streamlined lines, with a waistline that extends from the front headlights to the rear, while the rising design at the C-pillar adds a muscular touch.

The rear end has a more sophisticated look, with through-the-round taillights and C-shaped aerodynamic channels on both sides.

The Song PLUS Champion Edition measure 4,775mm in length, 1,890mm in width, and 1,670mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,765mm.

Inside the cabin, the new vehicle is equipped with dual-tone seats, a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, a rotating floating central control screen, and a crystal-styled electronic gear lever similar to that of the BYD Han model. The central logo on the steering wheel is consistent with the brand's exterior logo, replacing the "Song" name with "BYD."

Regarding power performance, the Song PLUS EV Champion Edition offers two powertrain options. The motor parameters are 150kW/310N·m and 160kW/330N·m, paired with a 71.8kWh and 87.04kWh battery pack, respectively. These options provide a driving range of 520km and 605km according to the CLTC test cycle.

The Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition features a 1.5L PHEV system with a motor output of 145kW/325N·m. The available battery pack options are 18.3kWh and 26.6kWh, providing pure electric driving ranges of 110km and 150km (NEDC), respectively. The fuel consumption in hybrid mode ranges from 5.3 to 5.4L/100km.
