BYD launches ATTO 3 BEV model in UAE market

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On June 21, BYD, the world's leading manufacturer of new energy vehicles and power batteries, announced a highly anticipated launch of its electric vehicle, the BYD ATTO 3, in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) market, in partnership with Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company.

This milestone introduction signifies a significant step forward in the UAE's sustainable mobility efforts and underscores the shared commitment of BYD and Al-Futtaim towards achieving the country's Net-Zero 2050 strategic goals, said BYD.

The BYD ATTO 3 is an A-segment model built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0, offering exceptional performance in terms of intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics. Its remarkable aerodynamic design achieves a drag coefficient as low as 0.29Cd, enabling the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds.

Moreover, the BYD ATTO 3 boasts an impressive pure electric cruising range of 420 km under WLTP test cycle. Extensive product localization and rigorous hot weather testing have been conducted to ensure seamless integration of the vehicle into the local market, taking into account the specific needs and preferences of UAE customers, the automaker added.

AD Huang, General Manager of BYD Middle East & Africa, emphasized the importance of product localization in the UAE market, given its unique climate and hot weather conditions. According to Mr. Huang, BYD conducted extensive hot weather testing last year, driving over 100,000 kilometers across the UAE to optimize the performance of the BYD ATTO 3, ensuring optimal functionality even in the challenging climate and hot summers of the region.

In March of this year, BYD announced a strategic cooperation with Al-Futtaim, a prominent distributor in the United Arab Emirates, with the aim of promoting green travel locally. The collaboration encompasses a comprehensive range of products and services within the electric vehicle ecosystem, including the newest electric vehicles, charging solutions, diverse financing packages, and top-tier after-sales service. By making electric vehicles more accessible to new customers and fostering the development of an EV ecosystem, BYD and Al-Futtaim are working together to accelerate the adoption of EVs throughout the country.
