BYD puts DOLPHIN all-electric model onto Brazilian market, priced at R$149,800
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) giant, made a splash in the Brazilian market on June 28 with the launch of the BYD DOLPHIN, its first pure electric model with the Ocean Aesthetics design. Following the launch, the BYD DOLPHIN saw robust sales in the local market, with 300 units sold as of June 29. The EV model was sold at an impressive rate of two units every five minutes on the launch day.

Designed by a team led by Wolfgang Egger, the BYD DOLPHIN exhibits a dynamic, marine-inspired design. The model, built on the e-platform 3.0, uses an 8-in-1 electric powertrain and BYD’s Blade Battery, enabling a cruising range of 405 km, and a quick charging capability from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The model also offers a sophisticated driving experience with a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen for intelligent voice control, CarPlay System, and remote vehicle control via mobile devices. The vehicle's vehicle-to-load (VTOL) charging function enhances outdoor power accessibility, boosting convenience in diverse settings.

Priced at R$149,800 (approximately RMB 223,000), the BYD DOLPHIN is the fifth new energy passenger car by BYD in Brazil, adding to a popular line-up that includes the BYD TANG, BYD HAN, BYD YUAN PLUS, and BYD SONG PLUS.
As part of its ambitious growth plan, BYD, which already has 24 dealership stores in Brazil, plans to expand to 100 dealership stores by the end of 2023, reinforcing its commitment to provide superior sales and after-sales services to cater to the burgeoning Brazilian customer base.
