GAC Energy, Goldenport Enterprises to co-build EV charging, battery swapping facilities

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On July 31, 2023, a strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony was held by GAC Energy, the energy subsidiary of GAC Group, and Goldenport Automotive Culture Development (Beijing) Co., Ltd. ("Goldenport Enterprises"), which focuses on promoting automobile culture, entertainment, leisure, and trade through operating race track parks and hosting rally races.

In response to the national call for constructing a high-quality electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping infrastructure system, both parties have entered into this cooperation agreement, aiming to leverage their respective advantages in resources, funds, and technology from a strategic and long-term perspective. The collaboration will advance in six major areas: EV charging and battery swapping, comprehensive intelligent energy in industrial parks, energy storage, new energy vehicle sales, international business, automotive events, car modification, and supercars. The combination of Goldenport Enterprises’ world-class racing events and GAC Energy's high-quality energy replenishment scenes will jointly create an exemplary new energy vehicle operation park, contributing to the high-quality development of China's new energy vehicle industry.

In the earlier stages, with joint efforts from GAC Energy and Goldenport  Enterprise, the two parties have already commenced collaboration in the comprehensive energy field that integrates photovoltaic (PV), energy storage with EV charging and battery swapping. The first project, in cooperation with Guangzhou Yima Goldenport Automotive Culture Co., Ltd., has been located at the Guangzhou Bus Station. It involves the construction of a 510 kW medium-sized battery swapping station and three sets of 360 kW one-to-six fast charging facilities, which are currently in the construction phase and are scheduled to be completed and operational in August.

The second batch of two large-scale projects will be located in Beijing Goldenport Automotive Park and the 898 Innovation Space. Currently, both teams are in close communication regarding the implementation of these projects.

Besides, the third batch of 19 projects has completed preliminary surveys, and the next step will involve discussions on the cooperation plan.
