Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 14, Hyundai Motor Group (China) announced a strategic collaboration with Newlink NaaS (“NaaS”), a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) charging service provider. Their combined efforts aim to accelerate the establishment of charging infrastructure and facilitate interconnectivity within the charging network.

Under the MoU (memorandum of understanding) signed on site, built on their respective strengths, the partnership will see the development of a dynamic charging service platform that furnishes EV owners with real-time charging data, charging point rewards, pay-as-you-go options, instant plug-and-charge functionality, home charger installation and management, as well as shared private chargers. NaaS will provide software and hardware support for Hyundai Motor Group's EV models in China, delivering an one-stop smart charging experience. This move will eventually encompass the entirety of Hyundai's EV lineup.

Moreover, the collaboration goes beyond the comprehensive integration of existing charging station facilities. It extends to a shared vision of transforming public infrastructure into a shared ecosystem, paving the way for the sharing of home-based charging resources.

Looking ahead, the partners envision an integrated system of real-time information for EV charging networks based on credit settlement, along with a broader ecosystem of automotive lifestyle services. This series of long-term ecosystem plans promises to enrich the underlying logic of corporate benefit, social responsibility, and governance optimization.

Hyundai Motor Group affirmed that vehicle owners can accrue charging rewards during vehicle purchase or receive charging-related incentives. These accrued credits can then be utilized through the Hyundai Motor Group's intelligent connected services app, offering convenient access to NaaS' smart charging stations. Real-time charging updates and functions can also be monitored via the vehicle's onboard central screen.

In addition, NaaS will offer offline installation services for in-car chargers. The collaboration introduces an order management system that facilitates online control of in-car charger installations. Vehicle owners can track progress seamlessly through the intelligent connected services app, securing a comprehensive installation experience.

NaaS, one of China's largest and fastest-growing EV charging service providers, debuted on NASDAQ on June 13, 2022. By March 31, 2023, the company had connected over 55,000 charging stations with 575,000 charging points.
