500,000th BYD Yuan PLUS rolls off line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 15, BYD saw the 500,000th unit of its popular compact SUV model, the BYD Yuan PLUS, roll off the assembly line at the manufacturing base in Hefei city. As BYD's inaugural globally oriented passenger vehicle, the Yuan PLUS achieved the impressive production milestone in just 19 months after its market debut. Currently, the model has made its mark in 55 countries worldwide (named “ATTO 3” in overseas market).

In the meantime, the model's refreshed version, the Yuan PLUS Champion Edition, also hit the market, offering a lineup of five trim levels with prices ranging from 135,800 yuan to 163,800 yuan.

Built on BYD's e-platform 3.0, the Yuan PLUS Championship Edition maintains the design essence of its predecessor while introducing two new exterior colors: Oxygen Blue and Dynamic Purple. The Cool Red exterior color option has been removed, and Dynamic Purple requires an additional 2,000-yuan fee.

In addition, the new model introduces a luxury-oriented beige interior color scheme to enhance its overall sense of opulence.

Features on the Champion Edition have been upgraded to offer enhanced comfort for passengers. The new model comes equipped with front seat ventilation and heating for the top-spec trim, an upgraded 3D transparent panoramic image system, smart power-on and power-off function, child-friendly mode, screen-wipe mode (similar to anti-mistouch function), and privacy glass for the rear doors and rear windshield.

In terms of powertrain, the Yuan PLUS Champion Edition continues to use the front-mounted 8-in-1 permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power output of 150 kW and peak torque of 310 N·m. It achieves 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 7.3 seconds and boasts an energy consumption of only 12.2 kWh per 100 kilometers. The vehicle also retains the option of two battery configurations, offering a choice between a 430 km and a 510 km range on a single charge, all while utilizing BYD's Blade batteries.
