Chery unveils ‘Fengyun’ new energy vehicle range

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 16, CHERY, one of the four major passenger car brands under Chery Holding, announced the official name for its fresh new energy vehicle series - "Fengyun" (meaning Wind and Clouds) and revealed the image of the series’ inaugural model, the Fengyun A9.

CHERY has always been dedicated to providing cost-effective, reliable, and emotionally resonant products for millions of families. It has created product lineups such as the SUV-focused Tiggo series, the sedan-oriented Arrizo series, and the multidimensional product sequence including the Explore 06. The introduction of CHERY Fengyun marks the birth of a new product series, centered around hybrid electric vehicle technology, signifying the automaker’s comprehensive push into the new energy sector.

The CHERY Fengyun series is expected to make its formal debut in the fourth quarter of this year with new products, a new logo, new distribution channels, a new team, and an enhanced ownership experience. At the launch event, more specific development plans, advanced technologies, and detailed product information will be unveiled, promising a delightful surprise for all.

Chery’s signature C-DM hybrid system, known as Kunpeng Super Energy Hybrid C-DM, will power the Fengyun series. It embodies Chery's 18 years of hybrid technology expertise, comprising dedicated hybrid engines, transmissions, batteries, and battery management systems, offering six key performance advantages, namely comprehensive high performance, sustained high energy efficiency, and overall vehicle safety. The Kunpeng Super Energy Hybrid C-DM will be featured in the upcoming production models of the Fengyun series in the fourth quarter, ensuring that user demands are met with reliable technology and product quality.
