The collaboration newly formed demonstrates a robust commitment to driving the transition towards clean energy and sustainable development. According to the agreement, GAC Energy will leverage its strengths in resources, capital, and technology, harnessing various application scenarios to foster innovative collaboration models. The focus will be on advancing cooperation in areas such as electric vehicle (EV) charging and swapping, comprehensive smart energy management, energy storage, and the sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs). This initiative aims to establish a leading domestic flagship pilot project for integrated energy centers, ultimately better serving the needs of the people in Qiaokou District, Wuhan City, and Hubei Province while promoting the development of local new energy industry.
Qiaokou District, as one of the central urban districts in Wuhan City, boasts exceptional geographical advantages and immense development potential. Over the next three years, the district plans to add 6,000 EV charging piles and concurrently construct 50 centralized charging stations and 10 battery swapping stations.
Additionally, Hubei Province and Wuhan City have successively introduced regulations to guide the construction of EV charging and battery swapping infrastructure across the province and city. The "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of a High-Quality Charging Infrastructure System in Hubei Province" released by the People's Government of Hubei Province has set clear objectives: by 2025, a total of 600,000 charging piles will be installed, including 250,000 public charging piles. The "Wuhan City High-Quality Urban Development Plan" also emphasizes the need to advance the construction of smart parking lots and NEV charging piles to meet the fundamental parking and charging infrastructure requirements in its central urban area.
