NIO users so far complete 30 million battery swaps

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 9 at 18:26:05, at the NIO Power Swap Station in Guanggang New Town, Liwan district, Guangzhou city, an ES8 user completed a battery swap, marking a remarkable achievement that NIO users collectively having completed 30 million battery swaps.

The milestone translates to a staggering 1.55 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity provided to NIO users and an impressive reduction of approximately 891,693 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. Compared to the use of public charging facility, NIO has saved users at least 1.7 billion minutes in energy replenishment.

NIO's Vice President, Shen Fei, highlighted that during the National Day Holiday period, characterized by long-distance travel and a significant increase in battery swaps, the average total time for a NIO user to complete a battery swap remained nearly consistent with regular days, at approximately 9 to 10 minutes. Notably, on October 5 alone, NIO hit a daily record of 78,233 battery swaps, including 25,021 swaps fulfilled along expressways.

The battery swap station, one of NIO's flagship supporting services, has become a cornerstone of its offerings. As of September 30, 2023, NIO has placed a total of 1,955 power swap stations globally, including 26 in overseas locations.

In addition to battery swapping, NIO is actively expanding its charging system for electric vehicle users. As of September 30, NIO has deployed 3,227 charging stations (including 10 overseas) with 18,804 charging piles (including 33 overseas) worldwide, along with access to over 1,390,000 third-party charging piles (including 500,000+ overseas).
