BYD celebrates production of 200,000th Seagull city EV

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD declared on November 29 the production of the 200,000th unit of its hotter-selling compact all-electric city car, the Seagull. Remarkably, this milestone was achieved a mere 7 months after the Seagull's initial market release.

The BYD Seagull, which went on sale on April 26 this year, is part of BYD's Ocean series and is crafted on the e-Platform 3.0. It features a price range of 73,800 yuan to 89,800 yuan.

The model measures 3,780mm long, 1,715mm wide, and 1,540mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,500mm. Its exterior design, influenced by marine aesthetics, presents a dynamic and adorable overall appearance. The vehicle's distinctive closed grille, paired with sharp LED headlights, and subtle sporty accents in the front bumper, contribute to its energetic and stylish presence.

Despite its bold exterior, the Seagull's interior exhibits a more gentle ambiance. With a cockpit featuring wraparound design, resembling the wings of a seagull, the overall aesthetic is both tasteful and unpretentious.

The central console, wrapped in soft materials, houses a rotating 10.1-inch floating touchscreen with the DiLink system, enabling remote vehicle status checks and operations via app connectivity.

Beyond traditional entry methods, the Seagull supports various access options, including BYD's car app unlocking, Bluetooth key, NFC key, compatible with both Android and iOS systems. Apple users, for instance, can control the vehicle through their iPhone or Apple Watch.

Equipped with BYD's signature Blade Battery technology, the Seagull offers two versions with ranges of 305 km and 405 km, featuring battery capacities of 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh, respectively. The 405-km-range version supports a fast-charging power of 40 kW, while the 305-km-range version supports 30 kW. Additionally, the model introduces VTOL mobile power station function, providing a convenient 3.3 kW external discharge for outdoor activities, such as camping in the countryside.
