Ji Yue, China Merchants Vehicle Research Institute to collaborate in key NEV parts testing

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 19, Ji Yue, the automotive robot (Robocar) brand jointly backed by Geely and Baidu, and China Merchants Vehicle Research Institute ("CMVR") formally inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement, according to a press release from CMVR.

Under this agreement, Ji Yue and CMVR will engage in forward-looking collaboration in key automotive technologies such as intelligent connectivity and intelligent driving. The partnership extends to specific areas like vehicle collision testing, battery pack system trials, safety in new energy vehicle fires, and overall vehicle electromagnetic interference detection. Moreover, both entities will actively contribute to the development and revision of intelligent automotive industry standards at national and international levels.

As a pivotal high-tech innovation subsidiary under China Merchant Group, CMVR has been actively engaged in research, testing, and development since its establishment in 2003, with a focus on multiple areas, including automotive passive and active safety, energy conservation, carbon emission reduction, new energy vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles, and smart vehicle-road coordination. It possesses three "national-level quality inspection centers" for automobile, motorcycles, and intelligent connected vehicles, and has been approved to build a "national-level new energy vehicle quality inspection and testing center".

The "Ji Yue" brand is the result of years of deep collaboration between Geely Holding Group and Baidu, representing a renewed elevation of their strategic partnership in the automotive robot sector. It is built to embody the cutting-edge synergy of both entities.

The Ji Yue 01 is the inaugural model under the Ji Yue brand. On September 19, 2023, the first batch of mass-produced Ji Yue 01 vehicles rolled off the production line at the Geely Hangzhou Bay Intelligent Factory.

Following this milestone, on October 8, the initial production run of the Ji Yue 01 was converged at the Geely Hangzhou Bay Intelligent Factory, marking the commencement of nationwide distribution to offline experience centers. Currently, Ji Yue has established over 40 offline experience centers nationwide, covering major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Changsha, Xi'an, and more.

On October 27th, the Ji Yue 01 officially hit the market, coming with two trim levels: the Ji Yue 01 Max and the Ji Yue 01 Max Performance, priced at 249,900 yuan and 339,900 yuan, respectively.

On November 30, Ji Yue unveiled a new pricing policy and benefits. Effective from 7:30 PM on November 30, the entire Ji Yue 01 lineup saw a reduction of 30,000 yuan, with an additional 10,000 yuan off for the optional suite of the long-range ternary-lithium battery pack (100 kWh). Following the price adjustment, the Ji Yue 01 Max is now priced from 219,900 yuan, the Ji Yue 01 Max Long-range Edition at 254,900 yuan, and the Ji Yue 01 Max Performance at 309,900 yuan.
