Polestar’s vehicles get access to Tesla’s charging network in China

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On March 20, Polestar announced a significant collaboration with Tesla China, enabling shared access to Tesla's charging network in the world's largest auto market. Through the partnership. Polestar's owners can now use the Polestar App to charge their vehicles at Tesla's Superchargers and Destination Charging stations across the Chinese Mainland.

By the end of March 2024, Tesla has boasted over 800 charging stations with more than 4,600 charging points in the Chinese Mainland, spanning across over 200 cities and key national highways such as G318 and G214.

This initiative allows owners of Polestar's all-electric models, specifically the Polestar 2 and Polestar 4, to effortlessly lower ground locks within a 1-kilometer radius via the Polestar App at Tesla's Supercharger locations. The Polestar 4, in particular, can benefit from a maximum charging power of up to 120kW. Moreover, at Tesla's Destination Charging locations, the Polestar 4’s drivers can enjoy the convenience of "charge on demand." After replenishing their vehicle's battery, the Polestar 4’s owners can also use Polestar App-based credits to offset their charging costs.

Polestar is dedicated to enhancing its charging network, fostering deeper integration and connectivity with third-party public charging providers, and integrating high-quality third-party sites into the Polestar App.

As of March 20, Polestar has established 14 self-operated charging stations in 11 cities in China, including major metropolises like Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, and Chengdu. The company has integrated over 650,000 premium charging points into its network, achieving a city coverage rate of 98% across 331 prefecture-level cities.
