BYD’s monthly auto sales hit new high in June 2024

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD, one of the leading Chinese manufacturers of new energy vehicles (NEVs), reported an all-time high monthly sales volume for June 2024.

In June, BYD's automobile sales reached 341,658 units, jumping 35.02% year on year and also climbing 2.97% month on month.

Of the vehicles sold last month, 340,211 units were contributed by the passenger vehicle (PV) sector, a year-on-year leap of 35.17%. Breaking down the PV sales by powertrain solutions, the BEV and PHEV arms recorded a sales volume of 145,179 units and 195,032 units, indicating a growth of 13.25% and 57.93% from a year earlier, respectively.

Among the PVs BYD sold in June, 26,995 units were exported overseas, showing a year-on-year soar of 156.2%.

In addition, BYD's commercial vehicle sector saw its monthly sales rise 6.32% over a year earlier to 1,447 units in June, including 392 buses.

As for sales performances of each product range and brand in June, BYD's Dynasty and Ocean series recorded a combined sales volume of 324,838 vehicles, indicating a 35% jump from the previous year. DENZA brand sold 12,275 vehicles, which climbed 11% over the prior-year period. Meanwhile, there were 418 vehicles and 2,680 vehicles sold under the YANGWANG and FANGCHENGBAO brands, respectively.

For the first half of 2024, BYD sold a total of 1,612,983 vehicles, which jumped 28.46% from a year over. Of those, PVs accounted for 99.64% of the company’s year-to-date sales, representing a 28.76% year-on-year growth.
