Covering a total area of 120,000 square meters, the new facility will have an annual production capacity of 10,000 units, primarily manufacturing new energy vehicles (NEVs). The plant is scheduled to begin operations by the end of this year, aiming to supply high-quality NEV products to the Cambodian market.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD's Asia-Pacific Automobile Sales Division, noted that BYD has already achieved strong sales performance in Cambodia, securing nearly 1,000-unit NEV orders in the first quarter of this year alone. This, he emphasized, reflects the Cambodian market's growing recognition and trust in BYD's products.

In addition to vehicle production, BYD plans to establish a training center in Cambodia dedicated to cultivating local NEV technical talent. This initiative is expected to not only raise the technical standards of Cambodia's NEV industry but also create more employment and career development opportunities for the country's youth.

During the groundbreaking event, BYD also held a special handover ceremony with Smart Axiata, the leading telecommunications company in Cambodia, officially delivering a fleet of NEVs to the Cambodian market. This milestone further demonstrates BYD's strong presence in Cambodia and lays a solid foundation for its continued growth in the region.
