Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Sales of BYD amounted to 228,087 units, up 99.76% year on year, the first on May, 2023 auto sales ranking by all brands, according to the May sales data of the China Passenger Car Association. Sales of VW amounted to 171,196 units, down 0.83% year on year, ranking second on the list while its YTD sales totaled 762,817 units. May sales of Toyota reached 140,615 units, decreasing 0.76% year on year and ranking third on the list while its YTD sales were 650,076 units. (Note: Data here refers to sales of cars, SUVs and MPVs made and sold in China.)
