The operation of this new plant will boost Guangqi Honda’s capacity to a new level and complete its production and process chain, marking this company’s transfer from a manufacturer to an integrated carmaker.

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai) - Despite a downturn in the automobile market as of late, the SUV segment in China continues to remain very strong. Domestic own brand manufacturers are performing especially strongly in the segment. According to statistics from Gasgoo.com (Chinese), a total of 246,313 own brand SUVs were sold in August, up 64.7% from 149,574 own brand SUVs sold last August. The SUV segment accounted for over half of all own brand sales made over the course of the month. 52.5% of SUV sales were of own brand models. The reason behind own brands’ success in the segment has been the introduction of several popular new models.
