This year, Aliqiche, a Chinese autonews website jointly established by Alibaba Group and SAIC Motor, has a unprecedentedly big sale of vehicles for the Nov 11 online shopping spree (short for 11.11). Cooperating with manufacturers and franchisers, Aliqiche launches more than 50 models, totaling about 30,000, for the sale. Some of these vehicles are even 50% off.

Cadillac prices ELR plug-in hybrid at $75,995

The 2014 Cadillac ELR plug-in hybrid will go on sale in January with a sticker price of $75,995, including destination charges. The lofty sticker -- it's more than twice that of the Chevrolet Volt, which shares the same underpinnings and powertrain -- suggests that GM plans to produce the coupe in small numbers to give it an air of exclusivity.
