Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 2) - Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing (China) R&D Center President Tadashi Yamashina announced that the manufacturer will begin manufacturing key auto parts next year in the country, in preparation for upcoming domestic production of its hybrid automobile models, the Beijing Times reported today. The news comes not long after FAW Toyota has begun Chinese sales of the new generation Prius hybrid.

The amount is four percent higher than the amount sold the previous year. With sales from Hong Kong and Macau figured in, that total reaches 895,000 units, just a hair under Toyota's original 2011 target of 900,000 sales.
