Honda Motor Co (7267.T) is counting on a new version of its Civic small car that will go on sale this spring to drive gains in 2011 after losing sales and market share to rivals in 2010. Honda showed off two concept versions of the upcoming Civic coupe and sedan that executives said were very close to the production version of the vehicles that will arrive in U.S. showrooms this spring as a 2012 model.

Dec. 23 , 2010Honda Motor Co said on Friday it would target sales in China of 730,000 vehicles in 2011, for growth of more than 10 percent from the 650,000 estimated for this year. "We expect the overall (Chinese) market to grow by an average 10 percent," Seiji Kuraishi, head of Honda's China operations, told reporters in Tokyo. "We will aim for a growth of more than 10 percent, of around 730,000 units."
