Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 28) - Dongfeng Honda's new own brand will be placed in the upper-level segment, JV president Liu Hong said. According to a story run on the Beijing News today, the brand would be created in compliance with the cooperation agreement signed between Dongfeng Motor and Honda.
Mr. Liu added that the new brand's first vehicle would be an upper-level sedan. The new vehicle is currently in the planning phase, and will not be ready in time for the Shanghai Automobile Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2011). Mr. Liu said that the new sedan, which is speculated to be built on the Civic platform, will make its premiere at the end of this year.
Dongfeng Honda made the announcent that it was establishing a new brand at last year's Guangzhou Auto Show.
