U.S. fines GM for not answering recall questions

General Motors is being fined $7,000 a day for missing an April 3 deadline to provide information about its recall of 2.6 million cars for defective ignition switches, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Tuesday.

Toyota Recalls 6,390,000 Cars in the Global and 60,000 of which are from Chinese Market

Because of air bag on the seat and other problems, Toyota will launch 5 recalls in the global including 27 models whose totally number will be 6,390,000. Those recalls cover American, Europe, Chinese and Japanese markets. 2 models from Chinese market will be involved are Reiz and Highlander, whose number will be 61,459.

Ford to recall about 434,000 vehicles

Ford Motor Co said on Monday it would recall about 434,700 vehicles mainly in North America due to two separate and unrelated issues. The company is recalling about 385,750 Escape compact SUVs as rust could cause the vehicle's subframe and lower control arm to separate, potentially diminishing steering control, it said in an e-mail.
