BYD achieves highest-ever monthly auto sales in Oct. 2022

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD Company Limited ("BYD") saw its monthly auto sales hit a new high of 217,816 units in Oct. 2022, surging 142.19% from the previous year, according to the company's latest monthly sales results.

Notably, as of Oct. 2022, BYD to record a month-on-month sales rise for the seventh month in a row.

BYD's current auto sales are entirely composed of new energy vehicles (NEVs) since it stopped production of oil-fueled vehicles in March this year. In the NEV sector, there were 217,518 passenger vehicles sold last month to reflect a 171.89% year-on-year soar, including 103,157 battery electric vehicles (+150.19% YoY) and 114,361 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (+194.97% YoY).

However, the sales of new energy commercial vehicles plunged 71.26% from a year earlier to only 298 units in October.

For the first ten months of 2022, BYD saw its auto sales total 1,402,919 units, which zoomed up 158.52% from the prior-year period. Compared to the year-ago level, the company's year-to-date NEV sales rocketed 233.92%.

Regarding sales of its main vehicle models, the Han family got a sales volume of 31,614 units in October. The Tang, Song, Qin, and Yuan series saw their monthly sales reach 17,161 units, 56,843 units, 34,670 units, and 27,548 units last month, respectively.

The automaker also sold 11,267 Seal sedans and 9,111 Destroyer 05 ("Quzhujian 05") sedans last month. Meanwhile, the Oct. sales of the Dolphin all-electric car came in at 25,336 units, shooting up 321% from a year ago.

According to BYD's data, the new energy passenger vehicles sold last month included 9,529 units exported overseas, 705 units and 7,130 units of which were from the Song and Yuan series.
