BYD Seal Champion edition hits market, starting at 189,800 yuan

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 10, the BYD Seal all-electric fastback sedan’s Champion edition officially hit the market with its five trim levels priced between 189,800 yuan and 279,800 yuan.

According to BYD’s introduction, the entire series of the BYD Seal Champion is equipped with an electronic child safety lock, which is controlled by the button at the driver position. Another standard facility for the 2022 version’s whole trims, the NFC car key, has been adapted to the Apple iOS system on the new one, in addition to the original Android system.

For the 550km luxury trim, which will be the main sales force, the Seal Champion edition has added four standard configurations: leather-wrapped seats, leather-covered steering wheel, rear privacy glass, and height-adjustable cup holders at the armrest box.

In addition, the 650km AWD performance version carries a light-sensitive panoramic sunroof (optional for the 700km-range version), the super iTAC intelligent torque adaption control system, simulated sound waves, quite tires from Continental Tires, and 19-inch five-spoke double-armed wheels.

In terms of exterior design, the BYD Seal Champion edition's C-pillar triangle window uses a simpler wave pattern decoration to further highlight the ocean theme.

Compared to the 2022 version, the BYD Seal Champion has added a new 700km luxury trim, which is equipped with an electric drive assembly with a maximum power of 170kW and a peak torque of 330Nm, and supports the fast charging technology capable of up to 150kW of charging rate.

Hitting the market in late July 2022, the BYD Seal is the first vehicle to use BYD’s cell-to-body (CTB) technology, which fully integrates the BYD Blade Battery into the entire vehicle structure and enhances the vehicle's safety. It is inspired by the high-strength honeycomb aluminium panel structure.
