Valeo steps up ADAS business layout in China with new manufacturing, R&D centers
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Valeo, the automotive supplier, unveiled three significant initiatives in China during May 23-25, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the growth of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) business.
The three initiatives, namely the inauguration of Valeo (Shenzhen) Intelligent Manufacturing Center, Phase III of the Valeo Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems Wuhan R&D Center, and the Valeo Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems Shanghai R&D Center, marked the company's efforts to accelerate the realization of ADAS technologies.
As a global leader in this field, Valeo's ADAS solutions are already implemented in one out of every three new vehicles worldwide. The newly established intelligent manufacturing and R&D centers in China will not only enhance Valeo's R&D capabilities but also strengthen its competitive edge in the domestic market while solidifying its global leadership position in the ADAS domain.

The newly inaugurated Valeo (Shenzhen) Intelligent Manufacturing Center represents the company's strategic expansion in the field of intelligent driving. The production lines primarily involve remote communication modules, 5G communication modules, ultra-wideband modules, forward-looking camera systems, and domain controllers, which are vital components of intelligent connected vehicles. This project will further expand Valeo (Shenzhen)'s business scope and enhance Valeo's competitiveness in the intelligent driving sector.

The Valeo Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems R&D Center in Wuhan was initially established in 2017. It has experienced rapid growth in recent years, expanding its operations and completing the Phase II expansion project in 2019. The launch of the Phase III will further expand Valeo's business scope and enhance collaboration with several Valeo business units in Wuhan.

Gu Jianmin, Chief Technology Officer of Valeo China, explained that Shanghai, as the location of Valeo's Chinese headquarters and the core region of East China's automotive industry, gathers numerous automotive companies and high-tech firms. The establishment of the Valeo Comfort and Driving Assistance Systems R&D Center in Shanghai will enable Valeo to respond more swiftly to local customer demands, while benefiting from Shanghai's innovative atmosphere and pool of high-end talent that aligns with Valeo's need for innovation.
