BYD inks agreement for production facility in Hungary
BYD commenced the initial stage of its new energy vehicle production facility in Hungary by signing the Preliminary Sales and Purchase Agreement with the government of Szeged city on January 30, 2024.
The Szeged facility will be exclusively devoted to manufacturing BYD electric vehicles targeted for the European market.
In December 2023, BYD announced the construction of a new energy passenger vehicle production base in Szeged, Hungary. The plant is expected to be completed and go into operation within three years.
