Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Great Wall Motor posted a year-on-year (YoY) sales growth of 1.93% with 110,088 vehicles delivered in October. However, its Jan-Oct sales fell 3.29% from a year earlier to 786,756 units among which the sales of Haval and WEY brands were 552,094 units and 116,381 units. By the end of October, 67.82% of the 1.16 million-unit sales target has been fulfilled.

The company saw its SUV sales rise 2.02% YoY in October to 95,840 units, while slide 5.91% YoY for the first ten months to 668,475 units. The Haval Oct. sales grew 4.05% over the previous year, the first time in 2018 that achieved YoY positive growth in monthly sales.

The growth of SUV monthly sales was largely benefitted from the price reduction activity raised by Great Wall Motor to promote its sales. Price preferential policy involved such models as the all-new Haval H6, H6 Coupe, H4, H2 and H2s, etc., with the price benefit up to RMB20,000.

The Haval F7 compact SUV officially went on sale on November 6 and is expected to be produced in Russia and then exported to Europe, South America and the Middle East. Prices for 6 variants range between RMB109,000 and RMB149,000. The automaker said that 40% of sales will come from the Haval F Series in the future.

The premium SUV brand WEY suffered a YoY drop of 32.68% in October, while its year-to-date (YTD) sales soared 160.84% from the year-ago period to 116,381 units. Last month, the sales of the WEY VV7, VV5 and VV6 (hitting the market on August 27) reached 2,552 units, 4,004 units and 4,017 units respectively. The WEY P8 plug-in hybrid SUV had a monthly sales volume of 311 units.

The Oct. sales of the Wingle pickup surged 38.69% over a year ealier to 13,062 units, topping 10,000 units for 3 consecutive months. The pickup YTD sales were 110,888 units.

Last month, the sales of the C30 sedan slumped 38.18% YoY in October to 476 units. Besides, a total of 710 ORA iQs were sold, 3 units more than that of a month ago.
