Under the partners' roadmap, the first demonstration stations are scheduled to be operational in the UK by 2027, prioritizing major highway arteries and key logistics ports. By 2035, the long-term goal is to expand the network to more than 30 stations, extending coverage to Scotland and Wales to establish a battery swapping infrastructure system spanning the UK's core transport routes.
Once completed, the network will offer efficient charging services to major UK logistics companies, port authorities, retailers, and private fleets. The companies also plan to integrate swapping stations into large distribution centers to facilitate urban delivery applications. This partnership marks a significant step in developing critical road freight infrastructure and is expected to enhance the UK's capacity to utilize clean power while reducing the transport sector's dependence on fossil fuels.
CATL stated that it will continue to work with global partners to provide leading new energy solutions, supporting the low-carbon transition of global transportation and energy structures.
