Gasgoo Munich- On June 30, battery giant CATL and global logistics provider J&T Express entered into a strategic partnership aimed at expanding the deployment of electric logistics equipment while advancing low-carbon logistics infrastructure. Under the agreement, the two companies will work together to accelerate the adoption of new energy heavy-duty trucks, light commercial delivery vehicles, and electric warehouse forklifts, alongside the development of green logistics parks designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions across the supply chain.

As part of the collaboration, CATL will equip more than 5,000 heavy-duty trucks in J&T Express' fleet with a complete battery-swapping solution, including swappable batteries, battery swap stations, and ongoing operation and maintenance services. The battery-swapping system enables trucks to replenish energy in as little as three to five minutes, significantly reducing downtime compared with conventional charging.
The companies expect electrification across the entire logistics chain—from long-haul freight and urban distribution to warehouse operations—to improve fleet utilization while delivering substantial long-term savings on energy costs. By extending electrification to multiple operating scenarios, the partnership is intended to strengthen both operational efficiency and economic competitiveness.
The initiative goes beyond upgrading vehicles on the road, extending the collaboration to logistics hubs where supporting energy infrastructure plays an increasingly important role in daily operations.
For logistics park development, CATL will also supply J&T Express with integrated energy storage systems and related services. These systems are designed to store electricity during off-peak hours when power prices are lower and discharge it during periods of peak demand, helping optimize electricity consumption and reduce operating costs. In addition, broader adoption of clean energy within the logistics parks is expected to support J&T Express in meeting its carbon management objectives and strengthening compliance with increasingly stringent environmental requirements.
Looking ahead, CATL said it will continue working with industry partners to promote an integrated "vehicle + infrastructure" approach to decarbonizing logistics. By combining electrified fleets with supporting energy facilities, the company aims to help the logistics sector achieve faster, more cost-efficient, and more sustainable operations.
