Gasgoo Munich-VOYAH released order data on May 4, showing its flagship large five-seat SUV, the Taishan X8, accumulated over 6,000 orders during the three-day May Day holiday. This brings cumulative orders to 36,000 since pre-sales opened on April 22, creating a significant impact in the 300,000 to 400,000 yuan premium new-energy SUV segment.
Marketed as the "New King of Five-Seaters," the Taishan X8 is VOYAH's first major launch since its Hong Kong listing. Priced between 302,900 and 389,900 yuan, the model offers five configurations across plug-in hybrid and pure-electric powertrains. It features exceptionally spacious interiors with a 3,090-millimeter wheelbase, dual zero-gravity seats, and a one-touch bed mode. Equipped with Huawei's 896-line LiDAR and Harmony Cockpit 5.2, the vehicle targets the high-end market with a focus on intelligence and comfort.

The order breakdown indicates a distinctly high-end customer base for the Taishan X8: over half are trading in vehicles from joint-venture luxury brands, while more than 60% work in IT, finance, or the public sector. Over 90% of buyers selected the top-tier Ultra and Ultra+ trims. This indicates strong appeal among premium family buyers and those upgrading from luxury rivals.
VOYAH's sales momentum has increased steadily since 2026. April deliveries reached 15,146 units, a 51% increase year-on-year, bringing the January-to-April total to 49,038 units, up 36%. The Taishan X8's early success is driving the brand's upward shift and filling a gap in its lineup of large, premium five-seat SUVs.
The Taishan X8 is in its final pre-launch phase, with official deliveries scheduled to begin this month. As orders convert into sales and production ramps up, the model is set to become a key pillar in VOYAH's push into the premium segment, solidifying its position as the leading high-end new-energy brand among central state-owned enterprises.
