The amount is 11.7 percent higher than sold in the first half of last year. VW headed the list, followed by GM, Nissan, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, PSA, Kia, Ford, Suzuki, Mazda, BMW, Daimler, Mitsubishi and Lotus.
