
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai September 26) - Truck sales in China increased slightly from July to August, Autoweekly reported today. According to statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, 191,000 trucks were sold in August, growing 8.93 percent from the previous month and 1.55 percent from the previous year. 190,100 vehicles were manufactured last month, 13.44 percent higher than July's production result and 3.77 percent higher than last August's.
August sales numbers for heavy, medium and light trucks were 38,300 units, 20,100 units and 136,900 units. Monthly production numbers for the three truck types were 34,000 units, 20,800 units and 136,600 units, respectively.
Respective sales and production amounts for Chinese trucks from January to August were 1.75 million units and 1.8 million units. The figures represent negative year-on-year growth rates of 5.53 percent and 4.55 percent, respectively.
