China's auto exports jump 115% in August

Shanghai September 20 (Gasgoo.com) China's auto exports in August jumped 115% from a year earlier to 47,200 vehicles, bringing total exports in the first eight months to 336,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 80.01%, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) Monday.

Exports of Chinese passenger vehicles reached 26,400 units in August, up 3.60% from the previous month and 167% from 2009, a better performance than domestically-made commercial vehicles. China exported 20,800 commercial vehicles last month, down 1.11% month-on-month, but up 72.55% on the year.

The top five automakers by January-August exports are Chery Auto (57,300 units), Changan Auto (40,600 units), Great Wall Motor (37,700 units), Dongfeng Motor (29,300 units) and Beijing Auto (24,100 units).

Chery Auto will export more than 100,000 vehicles this year, more than double the year-ago level, its chairman said recently.
