Coda's electric car to reach the US at the end of the year

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai March 3) - Philip Murtaugh, CEO of electric vehicle manufacturer Coda Automotive, announced in Beijing that the company's Chinese-produced electric vehicle will make its official North American debut at the end of this year, Shanghai Securities News reported today.

The South California-based manufacturer produced the vehicle alongside battery developer Tianjin Lishen and Changan Automobile Group's Hafei brand. Officials in Coda's Chinese branch stated that the car can be driven for 200 km after a six hour charge. According to sources within Lifan, who is also cooperating in projects with American automobile producer Miles Automotive Group, the car will carry a US price tag of around $45,000 and be eligible for government compensation of up to $7,500. The company plans to export 1,000 vehicles a year.
