PTI KTV (Beijing) - Stepping up its campaign to make foray into China''s burgeoning auto market, India is organising a major commercial interactive event here tomorrow to enable Indian auto component manufacturers to make renewed bid to push their products.
A 20-member delegations comprising of CEOs of Indian Auto Component Companies (IACC), will have a day long interaction with their counterparts of the China Federation of Industry and Commerce Auto & Motorbike Parts & Accessories Chamber of Commerce to explore business opportunities.
The event, being organised by the Indian Embassy here, would provide the delegation to have face to face interaction with 30-35 top Chinese auto companies, some of whom are looking to make investment in India, K Nagraj Naidu, First Secretary of the Economic Wing of the Indian Embassy told PTI.
It is a major opportunity for Indian auto component manufacturers to explore world''s biggest China auto market, which sold 6.5 million units last year, Naidu said.
Indian officials are hopeful of positive outcome as the Chinese Federation which is taking part in tomorrow''s event is an trade organisation backed by the Chinese government.
A seminar to discuss "exploring opportunities for India-China cooperation in the Auto component sector" will be held on the sides lines of interaction, which will be inaugurated by the Indian Ambassador to China, S Jaishankar.
The Indian delegation is headed by IACC President Srivats Ram and it would head to Shanghai later for similar interaction with Chinese business associates there.
Tomorrow''s event is the first by India this year to seriously explore possibility of some of the identified Indian products to make foray into Chinese market to bridge the yawning trade gap.
Last year India China trade exceeded target and shot up to over USD 61.7 billion with balance of trade heavily tilting in favour of China, whose exports to India crossed USD 40 billion.
Setting the new target of USD 100 billion for 2015, China has promised to provide openings for India to push its products like IT, Pharmaceuticals, Engineering and Agro goods.
Last year Indian Embassy here held big events to push IT products.
Next week another big event is being organised to provide an impetuous for exports of India Pharma products to China.
These programmes were being organised under the market expansion programme of the Indian External Affairs Ministry.
