Ministry of Environmental Protection：Mandatory vehicle air quality standards is expected to introduce

From 22 to 23 Oct, at the Ninth Forum for Environment and Development, Interior Air Quality and Development Summit, Chinese Academician of Engineering, government officials, industry experts, domestic and foreign automotive OEMs, interior parts and materials research and production enterprises, interior air quality testing unit and etc. 200 people got together, and discussed about people concerned interior air quality. was published last year, as a recommended index, people discussed about it at forum.

At the forum, Xiaofei Pei, Director of International Standards of Ministry of Environmental Standards Division, makes a speech about the people concerned auto interior air quality standard. According to his speech, China published < Passenger Car Air Quality Assessment Guidelines > on March 1 2012, it has the following issues after 1 year experience. The most important issues are whether or not the standard should be compulsory. The second is the standard includes 8 pollutants only, such as: toluene, xylene, styrene, formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. The third issues are how to measure pollutant.

Xiaofei Pei explains that measure the standard mentioned is test air quality with 16 hours seal, and 20°C. It is different from the real derive situation. “We know that some volatile organic compounds may not appear with 25°C. The more hot the more volatile. Xiaofei PEI said that according to State Council issued Decree No. 626 in 2012, about deficiency auto product management, it says quality problem which threat people safety belongs to deficiency products.

At the forum, Geely and Great Wall Motors and other companies share the work there are doing about car interior air quality and proposal some suggestions.
