According to China Passenger Car Association, the production of strictly defined passenger vehicles nationwide in China stood at 1,754,000 units, down by 14.2% against this March while up by 6.7% against last April. In the meantime, China has sold 1,638,000 passenger vehicles, down by 11.1% against this March while up by 8.1% against last April. For the first four months of 2016, the production of strictly defined passenger vehicles totaled 7,191,000 units, up by 7.7% compared against the same period last year while the sales of that totaled 7,081,000 units, up by 9%. Cui Dongshu, the general secretary of China Passenger Car Association, concluded that China auto sales fall below expectation this April.

Compared with March, the MPV market has a generally poor performance in April. The greatest fall belongs to SGMW Hongguang and Baojun 730. The monthly sales of Baojun 730 decreases from 40,000 units in January to 15,100 units in April. SGMW Hongguang also drops 15,900 units’ sales in April. With SGMW’s efforts, consumers are turning to SUV market. Some analysts say the price war between auto companies will result in dropping sales of MPV models.

According to a notice released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of Cangzhou, in a bid to promote the development of alternative energy vehicles in this city, consumers of alternative energy vehicles here will be granted a subsidy of 150,000 yuan within 90 working days after they submitted relevant purchase files. But 240 of the owners, who have already submitted all the files needed for the application of this subsidy in last December, still have not received the money, and they wouldn’t help wondering where the money is now and has the money been embezzled.
