The first pure electric commercial vehicle from Ford China destined for developed markets like Europe, the new Transit City was built to Ford's global development process and quality standards. It meets the stringent entry requirements of mature markets regarding regulatory safety, emissions, data security, and sustainability — a concrete step in Ford China's "In China, for the World" strategy.

Developed by Ford Pro specifically for modern urban logistics, the new electric van represents a significant expansion for the Transit family, which dates back to 1965. It is set to make its global debut in Europe in March 2026. Available in three body configurations — L1H1 van, L2H2 van, and single-row chassis — the vehicle offers a maximum payload of 1,600 kg and cargo volume up to 8.5 cubic meters.

Powering the vehicle is a 56 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a 110 kW front motor, delivering a WLTP range of up to 254 km. A 10-minute fast charge adds 50 km of range. Maintenance costs are projected to drop by roughly 40% compared to traditional diesel models, while high-voltage components come with an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty. Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control, alongside a 12.3-inch central screen supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The vehicle has completed durability testing equivalent to 10 years of high-intensity use, covering over 240,000 km. Export markets span 52 countries and regions across five continents, and the model has secured E1 EU information security certification. Orders in Europe will open in the second quarter of 2026, with the first batch expected to reach local customers by the end of the year.
