Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 15th)– Recently, many cities are embracing the rainy season. To protect safe transportation during the period, AMAP released urban “Water Map”, by marking historical water spots with different colors to plot “mild, moderate and severe” levels. Apart from the search function, the map will also push notifications to customers when comes a rainstorm. Besides, AMAP will cooperate with local traffic police to launch an activity named “find a water spot around you”.
It’s learned that the water map function is firstly developed by AMAP, with data provided from local traffic police. Map customers may also upload water spot information after being examined by the authority. Currently, six cities, including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Ningbo and Zhengzhou, are cooperating with AMAP to release “Water Map”, providing reliable transportation information to citizens on one hand, and helping traffic police broadcast information on the other hand.
Dong Zhenning, Vice President of AMAP said, the fast spread of mobile Internet has connected transportation information with weather information to help citizens avoid water spots and effectively enhance efficiency. In the future, AMAP will conduct deeper cooperation with local police in sharing data resources, analyses of transportation data and transportation public service.
