Gasgoo Munich- Apollo Go, the autonomous ride-hailing platform backed by Baidu, has begun fully driverless commercial operations in Dubai as of March 30, opening the service to the public via its mobile app.
Operating under the supervision of the Roads and Transport Authority, Apollo Go is deploying its autonomous fleet in phases. The company says it is now the first—and currently the only—fully self-operated platform offering driverless ride services in Dubai, supported by what it describes as the city's largest autonomous vehicle fleet.
To accelerate adoption and expand access, the company is pursuing a dual-track operational strategy designed to broaden coverage while simplifying user access.

On one front, Apollo Go has entered an exclusive partnership with Dubai Taxi Company, the emirate's largest state-owned taxi operator, aiming to integrate its autonomous technology into the local mobility ecosystem.
In parallel, the company is collaborating with global ride-hailing platform Uber, with plans to enable users to hail Apollo Go's driverless vehicles directly through the Uber app in the near future.
Since outlining a plan in 2025 to deploy more than 1,000 autonomous vehicles, Apollo Go has secured Dubai's first test license—labeled "No. 001"—as well as the city's inaugural permit for fully driverless testing. The company has also established its first overseas operations hub in the emirate.
Apollo Go's footprint now spans 26 cities worldwide, with cumulative ride orders surpassing 20 million, underscoring the company's push to scale autonomous mobility beyond China into key international markets.
