Auto Shanghai 2011 getting closer and closer

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 8) - The stage is set for the 14th Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition, scheduled to open its doors on April 21. Auto Shanghai 2011, as its called, will be attracting manufacturers and attendees from all around the world, with no less than 75 new vehicles to be shown.

This year's exhibition will be set up at the biennial Shanghai New International Expo Centre, with 230,000 square meters set up for the exhibition hall (a 35 percent increase from 2009's show). This year will see over 2,000 different companies from 20 countries attending, setting a new record for Auto Shanghai. 

The domestic big six of FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Changan, GAC and BAIC will be joined by independent own brands such as BYD, Brilliance, JAC, Haima, Soueast, Lifan, Hafei, Zotye, Dongfeng Liuzhou and King Long. They will be bringing there all as stiff competition will be coming from Germany's luxury brands, including VW, BMW and Daimler, top Japanese manufacturers such as Toyota, Honda and Nissan, and Detroit's Big Three.
