Gasgoo.com (Shanghai July 9) - Chinese brands are facing both increased opportunities and greater challenges in this year, as the market deals with new policies aimed at curbing traffic congestion and rising competition. It is under this background that this year's Chinese Brand Auto Expo, an annual auto show dedicated to domestic brands, opened last Friday in Beijing.
According to the cnr.cn, around 200 vehicles from 20 different manufacturers, including FAW, BAIC, Dongfeng, GAC, Geely, Chery, BYD and Yutong (making its first appearance), were shown off in a 300,000 square meter hall. Several vehicles with indigenous designed and developed technology were showed off.
New energy vehicles were the highlight of the show, with FAW Group along showing off four entirely new vehicles. A new partly solar-powered version of the BYD F3DM sedan (pictured below) was also on display.
