BYD, one of the country's largest automobile manufacturers, will branch out to the home appliance industry with the television as its start-off product, media reports said Tuesday.
Related source of BYD Auto said a female staff member of the company was transferred from BYD Auto Public Relations Department to serve as PR manager at the not-yet-confirmed-to-exist home appliance department.
According to the public opinion, BYD has no technical problems on manufacturing appliances, but it will tend to produce energy-saving products rather than walking into mass production.
News regarding BYD's industry branch-out had leaked in July this year.
