Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC AION, the EV-dedicated arm of GAC Group, saw its new vehicle registrations reach 18,778 in March 2022, scoring a 154.7% month-on-month hike, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).
With 7,716 units registered in March, the AION S was honored the brand's biggest sales contributor. Besides, the AION Y also recorded a monthly registration volume of over 7,000 units.
As for the March registrations of AION-branded vehicles, Guangzhou, where AION’s parent company is headquartered, topped the other cities in China with a volume nearly hitting 3,000 units. The No.2-No.3 cities—Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan— also came from Guangdong province. Besides, Beijing and Shanghai ranked 6th and 7th respectively.

For the first quarter of 2022, there were 37,169 AION-branded vehicles registered across China, 41.8% and 41.4% of which were contributed by the AION Y and the AION S respectively.
