Gasgoo Munich- The 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit — Auto Night Talk recently took place in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. Changan Automobile President Ye Pei told Gasgoo that global demand is fragmenting while product hardware converges. Rising trade barriers and diverging overseas AI and data infrastructure add fresh challenges. Automakers must urgently overhaul product development, supply chain structure, and global operations.
The auto industry relies on scale to cut costs, Ye noted, yet global demand is growing more diverse. Even as hardware standardizes, users expect increasingly differentiated experiences. Trade barriers and varying data and AI infrastructure across countries pose fresh challenges to running a global auto business.

To adapt, Changan has outlined four strategic paths. First, balance scale and diversity through modular platforms, varied powertrains, and tiered intelligence. Second, sharpen competitiveness via software-hardware decoupling, software-defined features, and scenario customization. Third, synchronize R&D, production, supply chains, sales, and service worldwide. Fourth, use AI to rebuild its global management framework.
This shift is advancing through three flagship initiatives. On globalization, Changan has expanded into 149 countries and regions. It targets over 2 million overseas sales by 2030, which would exceed 50% of its total volume. On intelligence, the Tianshu Pilot single-stage end-to-end ADAS debuted on the Changan Qiyuan Q06 in September. On new energy, the automaker advances its Golden Bell Jar and Blue Whale Super Engine technologies.
Changan will keep driving these three initiatives — "Vast Oceans," "Beidou Tianshu," and "Shangri-La" — to accelerate its transition into a smart, low-carbon mobility technology company, Ye added.
