Gasgoo Munich- On October 14, Changan Automobile, Leapmotor, Dongfeng Motor, and GAC Group added their voices to a growing chorus of support. Their endorsements follow earlier statements from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, BYD, and Chery. These groups back the results from the second session of the China-EU Trade and Investment Consultation Mechanism.
Held in Beijing from October 8 to 9, the talks yielded an understanding on hybrid vehicle trade. Both sides agreed to advance price commitments and related reviews for the EV anti-subsidy case. This signals a potential easing of auto trade frictions.
Changan threw its weight behind the three principles both sides affirmed: fact-based, non-discriminatory, and compliant. The automaker pledged to stick with its "in Europe, for Europe" localization strategy while sharpening its product competitiveness and overseas compliance operations.

For Leapmotor, the consensus is a springboard to deepen its European footprint. The company has already set up more than 1,000 sales and service outlets across 36 European countries and is moving into localized manufacturing. Going forward, Leapmotor plans to tighten industrial coordination with its global partners.

Dongfeng Motor, for its part, stressed it will keep refining its overseas compliance framework. The carmaker aims to push new-energy and hybrid technologies abroad, deepen localized industrial coordination, and tighten risk management for its overseas operations.
GAC Group likewise sees the consensus as a catalyst to dig deeper into the European market. The automaker vowed to strengthen ties with local partners and strictly adhere to lawful, compliant operations.

As more automakers line up behind the deal, the Chinese auto industry's desire for stable China-EU trade relations is coming into sharper focus. Still, a consensus does not mean the disputes are fully resolved. How policies are implemented and how trade costs shift from here will continue to shape Chinese automakers' investment and operational decisions in Europe.
