Beijing MCT denies rumors of information disclosure on its license plate lottery website - Jan 28, 2011

On the heels of Beijing's first license plate lottery, a video stating that the winners' personal information was unsecured surfaced on the Internet. In response, the city's Municipal Commission of Transport made a response denying the rumors. The commission denied rumors that its lottery website (http://www.bjhjyd.gov.cn) was unsafe, saying that it had an extremely secure information management system, and inviting concerned citizens to check the website for themselves.

Mini Countryman to make its Chinese debut in late February - Jan 27, 2011

British small car manufacturer Mini's 2010 performance in China were impressive, with its sales volume increasing 140% from the previous year. Mini looks to take advantage of this upward trend by bring their new Countryman over. The crossover SUV is to make its official debut in Amoy with a price tag of 350,000 yuan ($53,251).

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën announces new general manager - Jan 26, 2011

Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile Co., Ltd., the largest Sino-French joint venture, made an announcement that the company would bring French-selected deputy general manager Maxime Picat to take over Liu Weidong's recently vacated position of company general manager, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported earlier today.

Porsche CEO denies Chinese SUV rumors - Jan 25, 2011

BMW Brilliance to begin production of 5 series electric hybrid - Jan 24, 2011

BMW Brilliance Automotive announced that it will begin Chinese production of a 5 series electric hybrid car later this year, autohome.com.cn reported today. Additionally, it was confirmed that Brilliance will be responsible for research and development of the program.
