The ID. AURA T6 is the debut model in the ID. AURA lineup, having first appeared globally at Volkswagen Group Night in April 2026 before making its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show.

Penned by former Bentley design director Andreas Mindt, the vehicle embraces a "Pragmatic Naturalism" design philosophy. It measures 4,811mm long, 1,879mm wide, and 1,648mm tall, with a 2,836mm wheelbase. Buyers can choose from six exterior colors—Lark Grey, First Snow White, Shell White, Galaxy Blue, Mountain Green, and Sunset Purple—while the interior comes in Cloud Shadow Grey, Velvet Beige, or Honey Orange. With an interior utilization rate of 85.3%, the cabin features a one-click reclining mode, a "queen's" passenger seat, and fold-out tables.

On the intelligence front, the T6 utilizes the CEA electronic and electrical architecture—a joint effort between Volkswagen and XPENG led by a local team—adopting a "central computing + regional control" design. It runs on a 4nm cockpit chip with roughly 20 TOPS of computing power, enabling stable deployment of on-device large language models.

This marks the first pure electric SUV from the Volkswagen brand to integrate LiDAR. It employs an autonomous driving solution from Carizon, a joint venture between Volkswagen and Horizon Robotics, featuring a 192-line LiDAR and a chip with 420 TOPS of computing power. The system supports highway NOA and full-scenario urban navigation assistance.

Inside, the cabin boasts a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, a 10.25-inch full digital instrument cluster, and a 25.8-inch AR-HUD. It introduces a multi-modal AI smart desktop designed to actively learn user habits and anticipate needs.

An AI vehicle assistant and travel butler cover a wide range of usage scenarios, offering features like an automotive encyclopedia Q&A, maintenance scheduling, charging planning, and smart route recommendations. The audio system packs 18 speakers with an external amplifier delivering up to 920W of power.

Under the hood, the T6 features a single motor with a peak output of 170kW, paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. CLTC range comes in two versions: 550km and 620km. Leveraging an 800V high-voltage fast-charging platform, it can recover 300km of range in just 10 minutes. The braking system comes standard with front and rear disc brakes and Bosch IPB 2.0 technology, marking a departure from the rear drum brakes used in previous ID. series models.
